Rachel Lange founded Ocean Equine Training LLC in 2023 with the goal of providing thoughtful, horse-first training and instruction rooted in clear communication, sound fundamentals, and long-term development. OET began with two rescue ponies, Daisy and Toby, who thrived under Rachel’s care. The program has since evolved to meet the changing needs of horses and riders across New Jersey.
OET continues to focus on individualized training, practical problem-solving, and supporting horses through transitions such as starting, restarting, and returning to work after time off.
Rachel Lange brings over a decade of experience working with horses across disciplines, with a particular focus on starting young horses, restarting OTTBs, and helping horses rebuild confidence and correctness after lay-ups or major changes in training.
Her background includes English Equitation, Hunter/Jumpers, and Eventing, along with western foundations that emphasize softness, body awareness, and clear communication. Rachel competed on the Stockton University IHSA team while earning her B.S. in Accounting and began teaching professionally in 2017.
In 2022, Rachel spent significant time in Los Angeles training under an upper-level event rider while continuing to teach and ride at Hansen Dam Horse Park. She continues to train and compete in eventing under top riders while offering mobile training rides and off-site instruction tailored to each horse and rider combination.
Ocean Equine Training currently operates as a mobile program, offering off-site training rides and travel lessons at client barns and approved facilities. This model allows Rachel to work with horses in their home environments and collaborate closely with owners, riders, farriers, and veterinarians as needed.
Services are available throughout central New Jersey and surrounding areas. Please contact OET directly to discuss availability, travel options, and whether your goals are a good fit for the program.
